How To Add Albums To The Website

Part 1: Add album to Flickr:

    Login to Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/signin

    Click the Upload Cloud icon in the top bar.

    Drag and Drop photos from your computer or phone into this area to upload.

    Click the “Add to Albums” link on the left hand side.

    Click the blue “Create a new album” button.

    Name the album with the year, and then a -, the session, a -, then the description. Click the blue “Create album” button.  Example: 2023-GAN-BoysNightOut

    Once the album loads, keep the tab open. You will need to copy the Album ID later.

Part 2: Add album to Website:

    Login to the site if you are not already at https://cgichayolei.com/wp-admin/

    From the WordPress Dashboard mouse over Portfolio and then click on “Add New Post”

    Title the post the same as your Flickr description above with proper grammar and spacing. You can exclude the date and session.

    Set the correct date and session categories on the right hand side.

    Click “Set featured image” and upload one image from the gallery that represents the event well. Featured Image should be 3:2 ratio.

    Click “Publish” in the top right corner.

    Edit a previous Portfolio item and copy the shortcode from the Text Tab. Paste it into the text tab within the new Portfolio item you are creating. Swap out the large ID number (Ex. photoset_id=’72177720318447537‘ )for the new album ID from Flickr.

    Click “Update” on the new Portfolio Post.

Photographers

  • When uploading an album, please choose a album picture cover that looks nice and represents the album your are posting.
  • All wording in the album title should start with a Capital Letter, for example “Last Day of Camp”, “Dance Night”, etc.
  • Numbers should be spelled out in the following setting: First Month, Second Month, Gimmel Tammuz, Six Flags, etc.
  • Numbers should only be used in the following settings: Day 1, Part 1, & 4th Grade.
  • Please do not add “GAN”, “SGP” or “EGP” in the album title, as it is already tagged.
  • GAN Only: If you are adding a grade, please first add the event title followed by the grade, for example “Erev Shabbos 6th Grade”.
  • The website only pulls the first 100 pictures from Flickr, so try limiting albums to 100 pictures. If you would like to post more than 100, you can make two separate albums on Flicker and the website and name them “- Part 1′” & “- Part 2”.
